|PETERHEAD CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH|
94 Queen Street, Peterhead,
Minister - Rev Dr James McMillan
The Minister of Peterhead Congregational Church is the Rev James McMillan. James was born in Bellshill in Lanarkshire and brought up in the village of Glenboig. He was educated at Glenboig Primary School and Coatbridge High School.
He worked for many years with British Rail at Queen Street Station in Glasgow, before going to Glasgow University to study for the Christian Ministry. James gave his heart to the Lord when he was 14 at an evangelistic meeting in Coatbridge.
James ministered in Glenrothes and Dundee before coming to Peterhead in August 2007. He is a single man and his father, George, lives with him in the Manse here in Peterhead. George is also very involved in the life of the Church.
James has a very 'hands on' ministry, wanting to be with and among the congregation, and the needs of the congregation are of vital importance to him. There is an open door at the Manse for anyone at any time, and he is fully involved in the life of the community and the local schools.
The proclamation of the Gospel through the preaching of the Word, and the pastoral care of the needy, are central to his work, seeking at all times to give glory to God.
